Baked Fruit

As we shift into autumn, this makes a change from the regular fruit salad that's been a staple of summer. Just choose your favourite fruits and nuts and enjoy.

Baked Fruit

6 pieces of fruit (pears, apples, nectarines, peaches, plums, apricots, cherries, grapes - whatever your favourites are), sliced
¼ cup blanched almonds
2 cinnamon sticks
peel of 1 orange
juice of 1 orange
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

Place the sliced fruit in a baking tray, add the nuts, cinnamon sticks, orange peel and juice. Mix roughly. Sprinkle with the brown sugar.

Bake for about 20 minutes. Enjoy it hot or cold.

It's excellent served with Bircher Museli or Ricotta Pudding.

  1. I'm a huge fan of cooked fruits. Since I'm allergic to almost all fresh fruits (except citrus and berries) this is about the only way I can enjoy them.
