Weekend Herb Blogging #354 - Recap


It's an intimate gathering this week but it's a good mix of healthy, nutritious and comforting dishes. As usual, I've arranged the dishes in order of main ingredient.



Maitake Mushroom

A healthy stir-fry is on offer featuring Maitake mushrooms, sauteed in a mix of soy and cooking wine and flavoured with garlic and green onions they are served on a bed of noodles. Tigerfish notes that the Maitake mushroom have a more woodsy flavour.


Spinach

Cinzia shares a recipe from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy - a comforting soup full of nutritious spinach, perfect for those cooler autumn nights.

Vegan Streusel

Brii describes this as "fake parmigiano" a mix of almond, sesame seeds and nutritional yeast.


Zucchini

Zucchini Gateau with Cumin

Cristina's zucchini gateaux is flavoured with cumin and tasty gruyere and would be a fabulous dish to take on a picnic.

These zucchini flowers are stuffed with ricotta and parmesan and coated in a crisp, light batter.
